The Birth of Christ Jesus was not born on December 25! All the major events of His Life, such as His Birth, Baptism, Death, Resurrection and the Outpouring of His Spirit happened on FEAST DAYS, since the Feasts were designed to be prophetic of the Coming Messiah.
Jesus was BORN at TABERNACLES, the Feast that celebrates God’s Purpose to dwell with and in man.
John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God (His ETERNAL DEITY).”
John 1:14: “And the Word became ?esh (His CONCEPTION as a man)
and dwelt (TABERNACLED) among us (HIS BIRTH as a man)
and we beheld His glory (HIS LIFE).”
Jesus was also BAPTISED at Tabernacles, on His 30th Birthday:
“Jesus being baptised, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from Heaven, which said, You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased. And Jesus himself began to be about (exactly) 30 years of age” (Luke 3:21-23).
We also know from the Feasts in John’s Gospel and Luke 13 that Jesus’ Ministry lasted 3.5 Years. The Feast of Tabernacles starts on the 15th day of Tishri (their 7th Month). Going forward exactly 3.5 years takes us to Christ ’s death on Passover, 14th Nisan (which is their 1st Month). Christ was EXACTLY 33.5 years old at His death. So we can work out the exact day when Christ was born, if we know which year He died!
We have established elsewhere that Christ died at Passover AD 33!
Passover AD 33 was April 1st (on our present Gregorian Calendar) and April 3rd (according to the Julian Calendar which was used at the time).
If we go back 33.5 Jewish years from Passover AD 33 (April 1st), we get to the Birth of Christ at TABERNACLES 2 BC (there is no year ZERO). Tabernacles (15th Tishri) 2BC was October 12th (Gregorian)! This is when Jesus was born!
This was also announced by a preceding Sign in the Heavens. We would expect a Divine announcement of His impending Birth at Trumpets that year, for the Feast of Trumpets on the 1st Tishri was a day of announcements and warnings, so people would prepare for the coming Feasts of the 7th month.
Indeed at the opening of Trumpets, at Sunset 6pm, on the 27th September 2BC (Gregorian), there was a Sign in the Heavens, a rare astronomical alignment described in Revelation 12 in connection with the birth of Christ:
Revelation 12:1-5: “Now a great SIGN appeared in HEAVEN:
a WOMAN clothed with the SUN, with the MOON under her feet,
and on her head a garland of 12 stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labour and in pain (about) to give birth. And another Sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, ?ery red Dragon having 7 heads and 10 horns, and 7 diadems on his heads. His tail drew a 3rd of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman, who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a man Child (Christ) who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron.”
The Woman giving birth to the coming Messiah is represented by the Constellation VIRGO, the Virgin. In September/October 2BC, the SUN was in Virgo, indicating the Messiah was about to be manifested. And at Trumpets (Tishri 1), just before she gave birth, the MOON was under her feet. A rare occurrence!
This heavenly alignment was a Sign in the Sky announcing the Messiah’s Birth, and it happened at Trumpets 2 BC exactly as Revelation 12 describes it (see above)!
Now the INCARNATION was at Jesus’ CONCEPTION. This is when: “The Word became flesh.” The perfect human gestation period is 280 days. Tabernacles 2BC was October 12th, but the Jewish Day opened at 6pm, October 11th. Going back 280 days from this date gives January 4th, 2BC for the miraculous conception of Christ (on our Calendar) which is January 6th on the Julian Calendar in use at that time! So, the Word became ?esh on January 6th 2BC (Julian).
January 6th is the date when the Church has celebrated Epiphany from very early times! Epiphany means ‘the manifestation’ of Christ. It is the Christian Feast that fundamentally celebrates the INCARNATION, although different Church traditions have confused this by applying it to His Birth, appearance to the Magi or baptism. The Western Church made December 25th the day to celebrate Christ’s Birth, at the Winter Solstice. The 12 days of Christmas then end on January 6th, marking the visit of the Magi to Christ.
