Missions

crusadeOxford Bible Church is committed to playing its part in the Great Commission to preach the Gospel to all people (Mark 16:15-18) and to disciple all nations with the teaching of God's Word (Matthew 18: 18-20).

We have a weekly TV program on Revelation TV (on the Sky satellite) as well as on Lighthouse TV, broadcasting to Uganda. We also have an internet-based TV channel accessible through the Roku box.

We support Simon and Adriana Potter who are based at OBC and travel to minister in many nations of the world. We support another missionary from the church who does language work in Indonesia.

We support the Shekinah Bible Church, Skekinah Bible Institute and Medical Mission in Lahore, Pakistan. Pastors Derek and Hilary have ministered there on a number of occasions since preaching in an open-air Crusade there.

We support the evangelistic work of David Hathaway (Eurovision) and one of his associate evangelists, Suzanne Pillans (Step out in Faith Ministries), who is a member of OBC. Suzanne conducts large healing and evangelistic events as well as raising up Bible Schools in India and Africa, also providing bicycles and Bibles for local evangelists and providing food for orphanages.  Oxford Bible Church is presently partnering with Suzanne in holding Crusades in India. The last one was in February 2013 in Andhra Pradesh (see photo). The next Crusade will be in October, 2013. Peter Hockley, an evangelist in OBC, shares the preaching with Suzanne. At the last Crusade 10,000 people received Jesus as Lord and Saviour and at least 28 new churches were planted.

We support other missions such as Barnabas Fund, World Compassion and India Inland Mission on an occasional basis.

Home Groups

obc home groupsHome Groups are at the heart of the life of the church. With a Sunday morning congregation of over 200, Home Groups provide a place where church members can develop closer friendships, pray for each other and receive pastoral care. The groups meet regularly and have a time of praise, followed by a time of Bible study, prayer and ministry. Many have testified of the great support they have received through their groups, especially when they have gone through difficult times.

People are welcome to attend whatever group they like. The list below gives you an idea of where our Home Groups are located. For more details about specific groups, please contact the Home Group Pastor.

Prayer

obc prayer Prayer

At Oxford Bible Church we believe in the power of prayer and its central importance for our lives. We consider the prayer ministry to be an essential part of the life of the church, necessary to everything we do together. This is fulfilled by individual intercessors and friends praying together, as well as the prayer meetings (below) to which all are welcome.
